Frequently Asked Questions

What is an "API Hit"? Is it the same as "Page Views"?

No, “API Hits” is not the same as “Page Views” (sometimes also called “Page Hits”).

“API Hits” is the number of calls to our API. Theoretically, every page request will trigger one hit to our API. However, this is not necessary (a waste of API quota) if you install a server caching plugin such as WP Rocket, WP Fastest Cache, WP Super Cache or similar caching plugins – which you should anyway if you are concerned about page speed.

Here’s how it works:

(1) Assuming the server cache is cleared, and your home page receives a new visit which will result in the page being cached.

(2) As part of the first page visit mentioned above, an API call will also be made to our server. At this time, 1 hit will be deducted from your account.

(3) Since the page is now cached, subsequent visits will not trigger a call to our API. The next time our API will be called to clean up CSS is when you update a particular page which causes cache rebuilt.

As you can see, the rate at which your site makes calls to our API really vary depending on how often you update your page. If your page is not updated often, which means the cache are not cleared for days, it means our API will not be called by your site for those periods.

Note – do not confuse “server cache” with “browser cache”. Your visitors clearing their browser cache won’t trigger your website to make call to our API.

How is the "monthly page views" approximated?

As explained in the previous section, the number of API calls can vary between sites. We have taken the value of 15% hit rate – which is a real-world number we derived after testing on more than 50 websites we worked on. That means, if your website receives 1,000 page visits a month, you’ll likely see 15% of the visits require a call to our API, making it 150 API hits.

Again, this is just an estimation. We do not guarantee this value apply to your site as well. So, we suggest you start with the “Free Plan” or “Small Site Plan” first, and see what’s the kind of quota you need. You can always upgrade to a more powerful plan if the need arises.

Can I cancel my paid plan any time? Do I lose my quota after cancelling?

Yes, you can cancel your paid plan any time. You do not lose your quota after cancellation.

Example: You purchase the Starter Plan on 1 Sept. You decided to cancel your plan on 15 Sept, at which time you still have 200 API Calls on your plan quota. You will be able to continue to use the quota until:

a) Your plan expires on 30 Sept
b) You deplete your quota before the plan expires

Can I upgrade / downgrade any time? What happnes to my unused quota?

Yes, you can upgrade / downgrade your plan any time. You do not lose your unused quota after either actions.

Upgrade Example: You purchase the Starter Plan on 1 Sept. You decided to upgrade your plan to the Grow Plan on 15 Sept, at which time you still have 200 API Hits on your plan quota. Grow Plan will give you 2000 monthly API Hits. In other words, your first month with the Grow Plan will have 2000 monthly API hits + 200 leftovers. The 200 leftover API hits will only be valid for the 1st month of your upgrade.

Downgrade Example: You purchase the Grow Plan on 1 Sept. You decided to downgrade your plan to the Starter Plan on 15 Sept, at which time you still have 200 API Hits on your plan quota. Starter Plan will give you 800 monthly API Hits. In other words, your first month with the Starter Plan will have 800 monthly API hits + 200 leftovers. The 200 leftover API hits will only be valid for the 1st month of your downgrade.

What's your refund policy.

We do not offer refund. You can use our Free Plan to test out our API. However, for all paid plans, we do not offer refund regardless of the reasons.
